The Good, The Bad

A Little too Much

The appearance of the article is confusing; tons of photos and texts scattered all over the place. There seems to be a hierarchy but was not clearly established. The header is written in two different types of fonts with different thickness and sizes. The body of the text is written in many different fonts. There is a part in the article where it could go both ways: the quotes. Rather than quoting them, those sentences were just highlighted. The article is trying too hard to offer too many ideas to the reader, making it painful to the eye. It would be more compelling to the eyes of the viewer if the article where set up in a more conventional manner with a little less “fashion”.

Simply Beautiful

Nothing is more attractive than a minimalist look. The look conveys sense of classical and elegance at the same time. There is a clear visual hierarchy in the article. The arrangement helps guide the viewer’s through the article. The header stands out with its bold san-serif font while the sub-header followed with the same font as the header, except in a regular and smaller font. The photo is placed in arrangement with the text. The negative space in the photo also helps to communicate the title. A short paragraph is placed on the first page as an introduction to the reader and distinguished itself clearly from the photo’s description. With all said, the article is definitely visually compelling, thus it is impossible to resist reading it.
